Homegrown
I am currently seeking dance artists from across England who are living and working in the counties they were either born and/or raised in.
Homegrown, as a photographic project, aims to document the breadth & diversity of dancers across England and why artists choose to remain in or return to the communities that raised them. These images & interviews will be collated as a digital portfolio and/or a photography book, documenting one dancer from each county across England.
This project is in its early stages of planning and will be taking place from April 2025 to March 2026. Artists involved will likely only be needed for a day of shooting (in your local area) and interviews, and will receive the images taken of them at the project’s end.
As applications for funding are strengthened by having partners and strong planning I am seeking dance artists who are keen to be photographed and interviewed about their communities. Please complete the Google Forms specific to your region & equality and diversity monitoring form.
I am particularly interested in hearing from dancers across various dance genres, ages, gender identities, sexes, disabilities and/or impairments, ethnicities, sexual orientation and socio-econimic groups.
